FAQ - Superflower
Is Hemp-Derived CBD Legal?
The 2018 Farm Bill removed industrial hemp from the list of controlled substances under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). As a result, industrial hemp-derived CBD is no longer classified as a controlled substance under the United States Federal Law. Superflower products contain industrial hemp-derived CBD with less than 0.3% THC sourced from a State approved and registered hemp program. Thus, the industrial hemp-derived CBD contained in Superflower products currently is legal under federal law. On the state level, however, the laws with respect to industrial hemp and industrial hemp-derived CBD vary, with some states unfortunately still not recognizing federal hemp legislation. Accordingly, we encourage you to check your state's laws prior to purchasing Superflower products. If we do not offer shipping to your state, please consider urging lawmakers to support hemp here: https://hempsupporter.com/

What Exactly Is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or “CBD,” is one of the most abundant compounds (cannabinoids) found in the Cannabis plant, along with delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (more commonly known as “THC”). Unlike THC, however, CBD will not get you high. Many people use the term “cannabis” as a synonym for marijuana, but, in fact, the marijuana and hemp are both varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant, depending on the concentration of THC. SuperFlower’s CBD is derived only from organically grown hemp from Oregon, through a critical CO2 extraction.
What’s The Difference Between Hemp And Marijuana?
As noted above, both hemp and marijuana are varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp is a term used to classify Cannabis containing 0.3% or less THC on a dry weight basis. Marijuana, in contrast, identifies Cannabis containing greater than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis.
Will CBD Get Me High?
No. CBD will not get you high.
Is Superflower Detectable On A Drug Test?
Superflower contains 0% THC, meaning it should not trigger a positive result on a drug test.
Where Is Your CBD Sourced From?
Our CBD is organically grown and extracted in Oregon.
Do You Third Party Test Your CBD?
Yes! Our CBD is always third-party tested for heavy metals, full pesticides and residual solvents before making its way into our product.
How Does It Work With Our Bodies?*
CBD works through an interaction with one of the most important systems in our body, The Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS helps us maintain homeostasis (a state of bodily equilibrium), by regulating a range of physiological processes – from hormonal activity and immune system, to mood, memory, stress, pain sensation, and appetite. In other words, the ECS is instrumental in keeping us mentally and physically healthy. The Endocannabinoid System is made up of endocannabinoids (a type of neurotransmitters) and CB1 and CB2 receptors (the two most understood receptors of the ECS). We can think of endocannabinoids as keys that unlock the receptors. Whereas many phytocannabinoids (plant-derived cannibinoids), like THC, are able to act as keys for CB1 and CB2 receptors like endocannabinoids, CBD has very little binding affinity to either receptor. Instead it can help one of our body’s endocannabinoids, anandamide (known as the “bliss” cannabinoid), stay in the body longer. It also binds to other receptors like serotonin and adenosine, which through stimulation help with pain regulation, inflammation control, sleep, anxiety, nausea, and stress.
Why Is CBD So Great For Skincare?*
Anti-Acne – CBD has been shown to minimize sebum production and normalize an overactive sebaceous gland, resulting in less oily skin and reduced clogged pores. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4151231/ Anti-inflammatory – CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties are great for reducing puffiness, redness, and calming the skin.Moisturizing -- The fatty acids found in CBD (that’s still in an oil form) include omega-6 and gamma-linolenic acid which facilitate moisturization. Antioxidant - CBD’s antioxidant properties can help protect against free radicals in the environment, which is great for preventing fine lines and wrinkles.* These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
